In the Old Testament, David was the unlikely recipient of big promises. While he was still growing up, the youngest of all his brothers, he was promised he would be king and even be an ancestor of the Messiah. And David trusted those promises. David’s story is shaped by waiting. Between the promises being made and the promises being fulfilled, is a long, formative journey. And like David, our story too is full of waiting. Our story is about the journey, not just the destination. While learning about the obstacles David faced on the road to being king, we will gain wisdom on how to navigate our own journey in the waiting… and learn about the God who guides us.
